I buy stuff...brilliant title, I know

I am in Thailand as you may have heard/seen, and one of the things I love about Northern Thailand is the Mountain Tribes and their awesome beautiful handicrafts. You may have heard of the Karen people, more commonly referred to as the long neck tribe, they are the ones who put brass coils around their women's neck from 5 years old to stretch their necks out to resemble those of a swan. Its a bit disturbing, and sounds painful, but the effect is fascinating and I wish I had some pictures I took to show you, but they are all film. Anyways, I bought this bracelet at a Karen village, its kinda more touristy than traditional, but its a thin version of the brass they put around their necks.

I also got these rings at an awesome silver shop we always go to in Chiang Mai. I love the turquoise set in the bigger one.
This purse and skirt are things I got at the night market and a market in town, I love all the crazy patterns and embroidery, and the pom poms on the purse. The skirt was so cheap, the lady at the night market stall had a huge stack with skirts of of every color, its was quite a sight. (Worn here with a Gap t-shirt and vintage belt.)

Behold!

...This picture I have edited on photo manager beyond recognition! My outfit from few days ago, but I wore a purple sweater over the t-shirt. I kinda look like a zombie, dotcha think? Groovyness...

CHIANG MAI!!!

It is Autumn break at my school, and my family is in THAILAAAANDD! Sorry to be obnoxious, I just love it here. Part of it is the hotel we stay at, the Chedi. To put it plainly- it is awesome . Just being here makes me feel more stylish.

i got nothin' to say.

Seriously. Sometimes I question the validity of me having a fashion blog. I don't take fashion risks, or set trends. I don't take amazing street style pictures or have interesting opinions on runway shows. But I like fashion nonetheless, so I guess I'm just as entitled to a fashion blog as anyone. That being said, I have nothing to report. Well, thats not exactly true.

I took some pictures with my film camera recently, I think they were color, but I don't remember. I am excited to get them developed, which will occur as soon as I figure out how to say that in Chinese.

My hair is driving me crazy. I have split ends like nobody's business, and my bangs have grown out alarmingly quickly to be this lump on my face, which needs some sort of shaping/trimming. I am just scared to get a haircut in Taiwan cause I might be like "take off an inch" and they cut it all off! I have ridiculously long hair at the moment, and I'm thinking I'll tone it down a bit so I don't look like a crazy old lady. I've just gotta layer it more. Or chop it all off. I am torn between those.

And...that is all. Time for European history homework.

Thanks if you got to the end of this!

the nightmarket

Kendra drinking this tea that comes in a liter cup...strange?

Me eating this thing that is strawberries on a stick coated in sugar. Yum. Iris wants some, you can tell.

I went to the night market this weekend, which was very interesting. Its a very Taiwanese thing, but also a very new and modernized thing. Its basically like all these stalls and cheap clothing and interesting food. We took sticky-pics, these little pictures with little hearts and sparkles on them. VERY Asian. Anyways, thought I would post these.

Some people just don't get me...

shirt from Urban Outfitters, skirt and tights from Nordstrom, Hunter wellies.

So today I went out for a few hours with my sister then my friends around our neighborhood. I woke up at 11 and left at around 11:10, so I think its impressive that I even managed to look presentable when i went out. Lately I have been wearing lots of mismatching colors and ridiculous patterns. I have been asked if i do this on purpose, but I actually don't. I have been more focusing on shape and fit of clothes than the colors being all matching. Its weird to me when a color repeats itself more than two times in an outfit. So SOMEONE *cough cough jane cough* told me that my outfit did not match at all, plus a whole heap of other drivel that I ignored while eating a rice triangle wrong. She pointed this out too. So now I am going to be wearing EVEN MORE mismatching colors and patterns to annoy you dearie. Just you wait.
Also, apparently nobody wears wellies in Taiwan. This concerns me, cause it rains ALL THE TIME. Do people just let their feet get wet? Maybe if I wear mine enough, people will get their usefulness.

fishtail

I was thinking about this hairstyle today and ended up doing it on like 5 people, but I wanted to do one on me since I have really long hair. It turns out its not so difficult. Sorry the image is so bad. My camera is kinda...not good.

double outfit post

Looking super intense, lawl. I was going for a kind of aremy punk look. Vintage boots, gap cardigan, gap t-shirt, nrodstrom jeans, necklaces: vantage and forever 21
In this on im wearing the same gap cardigan, a vintage belt, target shorts, and an urban outfitters t-shirt.
And my room! I am so excited because it is mostly done being unpacked, and I really like the way it turned out.
